This is the standard our build is judged against, in the order we check it. A site that fails any one of them is not marked ready to show. Nothing here is marketing. It is the checklist.
Full-bleed hero, visible from the first frame
Your hero photo runs edge to edge and renders at full opacity on first paint. Never boxed, framed, round or faded in.
Fails if: A photo sat in a column box, or a headline that fades in from nothing.
Solid sticky header
The header stays solid and above all content as you scroll. Nothing ever covers it.
Fails if: A map or a section sliding over the top of the menu.
Tight, balanced layout
Tight padding, compact strips, no empty grid cells, no half-empty two-column sections, one pricing section only.
Fails if: Huge gaps between sections, or placeholder tiles in a gallery.
Every image loads
Every image resolves to a file that exists, on every page. Zero blanks, zero broken images.
Fails if: A grey box or a broken-image glyph where a photo should be.
Only real photos of your business
Only real, relevant photos of this business, showing the actual work. Wrong or irrelevant shots are dropped.
Fails if: Stock photos, or a picture of somebody else's van.
Legible everywhere
Every text and background pair meets WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1 body, 3:1 large), checked with axe-core. Text over a photo sits on a scrim.
Fails if: White text over a bright window that you have to squint at.
Real motion that never hides content
Reveals and transitions that add to the page without hiding it. Content is readable before any animation runs.
Fails if: A section stuck invisible because a scroll effect never fired.
Mobile-perfect navigation
Desktop nav fits on one line. Mobile collapses to a working burger menu. No horizontal scroll on a phone.
Fails if: A squashed full menu on a phone, or a page that scrolls sideways.
No clip-art
No generic icon sets, no scrolling icon rows, no circled-icon grids. Rating stars appear only in the hero, and only as a link to your real Google reviews.
Fails if: Clip-art icons, an icon marquee, or a row of circled icons.
Bespoke, not a template
At least four concrete details specific to your business. Your trade, your area, your services, your voice.
Fails if: Copy that could be about any business in the country.
The full toolchain, to completion
The design and accessibility toolchain runs to the end: axe-core with zero violations, zero console errors, every audit issue closed.
Fails if: A tool that ran but whose fixes were never applied.
